The 3rd edition of Startup Weekend Tubarão, one of the main events of the category's Brazilian and world ecosystem, took place this weekend at Farol Shopping. Aiming to foster entrepreneurship, the event was attended by 93 participants from 17 cities, with 25 ideas presented. Of these, 14 were the most voted. From then on, nine teams were formed whose mission was to develop a startup idea from scratch and put their new business to work. 2n5b1y

The end result was the "Faz Para Mim" team, a digital platform that connects service providers with customers who want a more affordable price, announcing how much they would be willing to pay for that work. Second place went to "With What Clothing," a digital platform for managing customers' wardrobes, with different choices and needs for each. In third place was the team "Recicla Fácil", a digital platform that facilitates the connection of people who want to properly dispose of waste with recycling companies.

As a prize, the winning team won three months of incubation at CRIE / AGETEC, three more Startup Summit tickets (Florianópolis), Innovation Summit SC tickets (Tubarão) and Mormaii backpacks. In turn, the runner-up received two tickets for the Startup Summit (Florianópolis) and for the Innovation Summit SC (Tubarão). Finally, the third place received tickets for the Startup Summit (Florianópolis) and Innovation Summit SC (Tubarão). “This third edition of Startup Weekend in Tubarão consolidated the event in the city, it was the edition that was in greatest demand, selling sold out tickets even before the start. With good ideas, good teams, many groups of companies participating - demonstrating that companies are looking for mechanisms to innovate - and Startup Weekend is a good choice for pursuing digital innovation and empowering your employees. In addition, participants went through a series of activities, learning to seek problem solving, idea validation and business models. The group also had the opportunity to attend lectures on validation, minimum viable product (MVP) and pitch with entrepreneurs. “It was an arduous and helpful process, but at the same time enjoyable. The idea was the eighth most voted, almost did not , but we managed to form a good team and came out winners. I intend to take this startup forward, because it may be the solution for a lot of people, first for people who are out of work, but have the ability for that job, and secondly, people who want a more affordable price for services and with the power to choose how much they can afford, ”explains Fernando Fraccaroli of the" Faz pra Mim "team.

Judging criteria for projects in Startup Weekend are divided into main sessions. Teams are judged against three criteria: validation, execution, design and business model.
